The Ann Newman Giant Wooden Slide is an iconic play destination and the source of countless intergenerational memories for thousands of Philadelphia families. At 12.5 feet wide and 40 feet long, the slide is waxed for optimal velocity and acceleration, ensuring that everyone gets the most out of each turn. On October 8, 2022, the Slide-A-Thon begins with family-friendly activities and kids' races in the morning, followed by a team competition in the afternoon. Enjoy food, music, raffles, and plenty of playground fun as we slide to raise money in support of Smith's mission-driven work.

In the kids' division (10am-12pm), children will compete in timed slides and relay races with the fastest times taking top honors. When they're not competing, sliders can participate in games, crafts, burlap sack decorating, and more. Every child gets a prize!

In the team division (12pm-4pm), Slide-A-Thon teams of 10 adults and/or kids will battle it out to see who can complete the most slides in a 10-minute time frame and be crowned the Slide-A-Thon Champions. Socialize with friends, colleagues, and other teams, enjoy beer and snacks, and have a blast supporting Smith.
